Part of SPJ’s mission is to offer professional development to all journalists, and to help educate the next generation of journalists. The Cleveland Professional SPJ Chapter is proud to work with student journalists at Cleveland State University. We encourage all student journalists to become active in the CSU Chapter, and know that you are always welcome to attend any and all functions of the Cleveland Professional Chapter.

The October program was a panel of free-lance writers -- Wendy Hoke, Jay Miller, Kathryn DeLong and Steve Fitzgerald. Thanks to everyone who spoke and helped with the organization, especially Dr. Jeffres, who volunteered his feature writing class for a captive audience.

The Society of Professional Journalists works to improve and protect journalism. Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry; works to inspire and educate the next generation of journalists; and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press.
