Back from the national convention
And boy was it sweet!
In four days I...
Learned some of the best video production tips I've ever heard;
Was elected as SPJ's Region 11 Director;
Watched as journalism legends Carl Bernstein, Bob Woodward, Ben Bradlee and others discussed Watergate 35 years after it happened;
Listened to four former press secretaries discuss the intricacies of their jobs;
Had a drink in the National Press Club where women weren't always allowed in the past;
Watched as outgoing national president Christine Tatum swore in new president Clint Brewer;
Hung out with fellow gen jers several times;
Reunited with my buddy Jaclyn – with whom I shared a room and finally managed to find M Street;
And I managed to adjust to east cost time and temperature (there was a heat wave).
And there is so much more that I cannot even think of to mention here.
Please share your thoughts on the convention – what were the best, the worst and interesting aspects?
