Peeking over the fence

The Huffington Post has created what it's calling Fundrace 2008. The gadget allows us to type in a zip code, address or name and then comes up with a list of people in that area (or specific person) that have contributed to a political campaign, which campaign and how much they donated.

As far as I'm concerned, this makes my neighborhood so much more interesting. It's neat to see who around me donates and to what party. My area seems to be a majority of Republican, with some Democrats scattered here and there.

That's very cool, indeed. Only one person has donated ($250) for the presidential hopefuls from my zip. My other favorite campaign site is at washingtonpost.com

You should also check out www.opensecrets.org. The Money Web is new and interesting, but you can get a lot of data from the "Who gives" tab.
