SPJ Region Conferences

So anyone attending/attended their SPJ Region Conferences? The Region XI Conference is next week for us here in Hawaii. Care to share your experience, or are there topics that interest you? Me I'm just excited in meeting other journalists in my area. I've always been gungho about attending mixers, mostly because I'm still not over getting free food. I'm definitely attending the reception at the Waikiki Yacht Club, which is probably the first and only time for many of us are able to go to a yacht club.

(Tear) I don't have enough money to go to my regional convention - AND it's in Honolulu! As a chapter leader I really want to go - but with flights starting at $300 and the rooms at $129 a night, I just do not have the money to go. I know that some chapters have funds to support the presidents' travel and board at conventions - but my chapter is so young that we're still in the red! Eh - I'll try to save up for national in D.C.

Hello Everyone,
My wife was finally able to kick the habit before she got pregnant with our now first born beautiful baby gilr, so I tought I'll share the resource that she has used to help her quit the smoking habit with as many people as I can.
She was a heavy smoker for about ten years and just a couple of weeks after finding out about the program that I have researched online, she was able to quit smoking permanently and now can't stop telling people about how she had kicked the habit for good.
